Inlet cooling

Cooling the turbine inlet air even by a few degrees can increase power output substantially. This is because cooled air is denser, giving the turbine a higher mass-flow rate and resulting in increased turbine output and efficiency. 

The power output of any gas turbine is very sensitive to ambient temperature. Maximum power typically drops by about 0.3% to 0.9% for each degree Celsius increase in ambient  temperature (0.3% to 0.5%  for each degree Farenheit). Nominal increases in Kw output on a 90F/32° day can range from 5% to 25% of a gas turbine nameplate rating depending on the inlet cooling technology, turbine design and ambient air conditions.
